Contract Writer - A Book For Women Navigating Pregnancy

Location: Remote Position Overview We are seeking a contract writer to develop and write a Christ-centered book designed for women navigating the unique season of pregnancy. We are open to different conceptual directions for this resource, including, but not limited to: A general book for navigating the beautifully joyful, deeply transitional, and physically exhausting season of pregnancy through the lens of the gospel. A targeted book that addresses specific emotional or spiritual challenges that often arise during pregnancy, such as anxiety and fear, body image in pregnancy, navigating pregnancy after a previous loss, or preparing for labor and delivery. The ideal project will combine in-depth theology with deep empathy, meeting expectant mothers right where they are with the comforting truths of God’s Word. Scope of Work Research, outline, and write a full-length manuscript (approximately 45,000–75,000 words) Collaborate closely with the editorial team through multiple rounds of revision Ensure theological alignment with The Daily Grace Co.’s doctrinal commitment Commitment Contract, per-project basis.

Compensation

Compensation is determined based on project scope and complexity. Additional Information Contractors are engaged based on the needs of specific projects and are not guaranteed ongoing or full-time work. Please submit all materials in a single PDF (not a Word Doc or Google Doc) that includes: 1. Title and Subtitle 2. Controlling Idea (1–2 sentences) 3. One-Paragraph Summary Provide a concise overview of the book’s purpose, scope, structure, and tone. 4. Target Audience Description (One of the Most Important Sections)Who this book is specifically for Their stage or season of life The particular struggles, questions, or longings they are experiencing Why this book matters to them now Tip: Specificity is essential. Broad descriptions such as “Christian women” or “believers” are not sufficient. 5. Comparable Titles (2–3 from the Past 5 Years) Identify 2–3 comparable books published within the last five years and explain: How your book overlaps with each one How it is meaningfully distinct in approach, audience, tone, or theological emphasis 6. Author Bio Explain what uniquely qualifies you to write this book, including: Education Ministry, counseling, academic, or professional experience Subject-matter expertise Lived experience relevant to the topic (if appropriate) Previous publishing or writing experience 7. Detailed Chapter Outline Provide a working table of contents that includes: Chapter titles The main idea of each chapter and how it supports the controlling idea of the book 8. Front and Back Matter (Optional) Describe any supplemental materials (e.g., photography, illustrations, reflection questions, discussion guides, recommended resources, liturgies, appendices, etc.). 9. Timeline and Specifications Include: Current manuscript status (idea stage, in progress, complete, etc.) Estimated total word count (typically 45,000–75,000 words) Anticipated manuscript delivery date 10. Other Book Ideas (Optional) If you have additional book concepts that may be a fit for The Daily Grace Co., please include a brief description of each idea (1–3 sentences per concept). While these ideas will not be considered part of the current proposal, they may be considered for future publishing opportunities. 11. Sample Material The complete book introduction Two fully written sample chapters representative of the final manuscript
