Position Summary The Contract Outpatient Therapist is responsible for conducting diagnostic and comprehensive clinical assessments, providing outpatient therapy services, managing an assigned caseload, and collaborating with clinical leadership to ensure quality care. The ideal candidate brings strong clinical expertise, sound diagnostic judgment, and the ability to work independently while maintaining exceptional documentation and compliance standards.
Compensation
Structure (Fee-for-Service)
- Diagnostic Assessments - 50% per completed assessment
- Comprehensive Clinical Assessments - 50% per completed assessment
- Outpatient Therapy (Telehealth/In-Person) - 50% per completed session
Reports To: Director of Clinical Services and Operations
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive diagnostic and clinical assessments to determine client needs
and medical necessity.
- Evaluate client urgency, complexity, strengths, risks, and available support systems to
inform treatment planning.
- Provide outpatient therapy services through telehealth and, when applicable, in-person
sessions.
- Review and evaluate referrals for eligibility and make admission recommendations in
accordance with company policies.
- Manage an assigned caseload while maintaining accurate, timely, and compliant clinical
documentation within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Director to support care coordination, resource allocation,
and treatment planning.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, ethical standards, licensing requirements,
and applicable state and federal regulations.
Qualifications
Required
- Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health
field from an accredited institution.
- Active North Carolina licensure as one of the following:
o Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW or LCSWA) o Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC or LCMHC-A) o Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS or LCAS-A)
- Preferred minimum of two (2) years of post-licensure clinical experience in mental
health or substance use treatment.
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills.
- Experience utilizing Electronic Health Records (EHR) for documentation and compliance.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively prioritize responsibilities and manage an independent caseload.
Preferred
- Experience providing telehealth behavioral health services.
- Experience working with diverse populations across outpatient settings.
- Familiarity with evidence-based treatment modalities and interdisciplinary care
