Content Editor, Bible Publishing | Remote

Lifeway is seeking a Content Editor. The Content Editor for Bibles & Reference is responsible for editing Bibles and Bible reference books and ensuring the theological integrity of content. Contributes commentary, content and translation support to authors and partners across Lifeway . Why Lifeway? Responsibilities

• Lives out Lifeway’s mission and values , showing deep commitment to Kingdom work
• Edits Bibles, commentaries, and reference books for accuracy, theological alignment, and clarity.
• Supports authors with content, translation, and manuscript refinement.
• Rewrites manuscripts to align with the original concept.
• Contributes to vision casting and concept development.
• Builds author relationships
• Coordinates projects and manages deadlines
• Represents Lifeway a conferences and events.
• Limited travel, occasionally overnight

Qualifications

Education Graduate Degree - Biblical Studies, Greek and Hebrew translations Skills, Knowledge, & Experiences, Required 5+ years of experience:

• Bible translation and theology expertise
• Hebrew and Greek translation theory expertise

3+ years of experience:

• Editing, preferably in a publishing environment
• Project coordination
• Relationship building and networking
• Organizational skills and team collaboration
• Digital literacy and customer-focused roles

Additional expertise:

• Hebrew, Greek, translation theory, and exegesis

Actively involved in a Southern Baptist church
