In this role, you'll play a critical part in creating a world-class claims experience by handling first and third party claims, including cargo, auditing and driving claim success through a third party claims administrator. We’re a distributed team across Columbus, OH, New York, Atlanta, GA, and Chile. This role is a hybrid position going into the Atlanta office. What you’ll do:
- Analyze coverage based on the facts of the loss
- Make informed liability decisions, including the consideration of comparative negligence
- Collaborate with claims leadership on severity losses, reserve adjustments and claim evaluations
- Negotiate settlements with first and third party claimants
- Utilize data available to drive focus on claim trends
- Handle special projects or additional duties assigned related to your role as an individual contributor of the claims organization
- Work across departments to pilot and test new innovations
About you:
- 5+ years of auto claims handling experience
- Active adjusters license in home or designated home state
- New York licensing required within first 3 months of employment
- Consistently exceeds targets including, but not limited to, cycle time and recovery rates
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Bias-to-action - you’re not afraid to get your hands dirty and stretch yourself
- Owner mentality - take accountability for your actions and results
- Strong collaborator with team members based across the country and the world
- Successfully able to work in high-growth & ambiguous start-up environments
