BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER-PROTEIN SYSTEMS
Our client is currently seeking a Business Development Manager – Functional Protein Ingredients (National Remote) We are seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth by promoting our portfolio of functional and nutritional protein systems across the food, beverage, and nutrition industries. This is a consultative, technical sales position that involves deep collaboration with customer R&D, procurement, and innovation teams to solve formulation challenges and create tailored ingredient solutions that lead to long-term supply partnerships. This is a fully remote, national role with up to 40% travel required for customer visits, industry events, and key meetings.
Responsibilities
- Identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities for functional and nutritional protein ingredients in the food, beverage, and nutrition sectors.
- Build and manage a robust sales pipeline from initial prospecting through to commercialization and ongoing account expansion.
- Work closely with customers’ technical and procurement teams to understand their formulation needs and deliver customized, value-added protein solutions.
- Represent the company at major industry trade shows, conferences, and customer events.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of B2B sales or business development experience in food/nutritional ingredients, with a focus on proteins or dairy-derived ingredients strongly preferred.
- Solid working knowledge of protein functionality, applications, and their use in food and beverage formulations.
- Proven track record of winning new business and growing accounts through a consultative, solutions-oriented sales approach.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 40%.
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Business, Chemistry, or a related field is preferred.
