About the Role

We are looking for a strategic, resourceful, and analytical Business Development Manager based in Jakarta to help build and scale Duolingo’s partnerships in Indonesia. In this role, you will help define Duolingo’s go-to-market partnership strategy and drive relationships with leading brands across travel, consumer internet, fintech, telecommunications, CPG, and other key sectors. You will own the partnership lifecycle end-to-end - from identifying opportunities and conducting outreach to negotiating deals, executing campaigns, and measuring impact. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable developing strategy and rolling up their sleeves to execute. They thrive in fast-moving environments, operate with high autonomy, and are energized by building new initiatives from the ground up. This role reports to the Business Development Lead and is remote-friendly, with a preference for candidates based in Jakarta.

Responsibilities

Map, evaluate, and prioritize high-potential partners across Indonesia Develop and execute Duolingo’s partnership strategy in the market Build relationships with senior stakeholders across prospective partner organizations Lead outreach, negotiations, and partnership structuring Coordinate cross-functional execution with internal and external stakeholders Track, analyze, and report on partnership performance and business outcomes Identify new growth opportunities and continuously refine our partnership approach

Qualifications

Deep network across Indonesia’s consumer internet, travel, fintech, telecom, retail, and CPG ecosystems 5+ years of business development, partnerships, strategy, or related experience, ideally within a high-growth technology company Demonstrated ability to source, negotiate, and execute strategic partnerships Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities Highly self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment Fluent in English and Bahasa Indonesia Duolingo is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
