Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Battery Engineer. The Battery Engineer will design, develop, and optimize battery systems, components, and architectures for performance, safety, and reliability. Daily responsibilities include conducting simulations and analyses, defining requirements, selecting materials, and collaborating with mechanical and manufacturing engineering teams to ensure design-for-manufacture and quality standards. The role involves troubleshooting battery performance issues, supporting validation and testing, documenting technical findings, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. The Battery Engineer will also participate in cross-functional project meetings, provide clear technical communication, and support project management activities such as timeline tracking and risk assessment.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Mechanical Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering skills, with experience in battery systems or energy storage technologies.
- Candidates should possess excellent Analytical Skills, including data analysis, root-cause investigation, and performance modeling for battery design and optimization.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders and prepare concise technical documentation.
- Candidates should possess Project Management skills, including organizing tasks, managing timelines, and coordinating cross-functional workstreams.
- Relevant qualifications include a bachelor’s or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Experience with battery testing, safety standards, and industry tools (e.g., CAD, simulation software) is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, collaborate with distributed teams, and adapt to evolving project priorities.
- Knowledge of lithium-ion or advanced chemistries, thermal management, and reliability engineering is a plus.
