Application Support Specialist- Veterans Affairs (REMOTE/ 3rd Shift)

Description: As an Application Support Analyst (ASA) on our team you have the chance to design application systems in support of the Department of Veterans Affairs. Your technical expertise will be vital as you evaluate and modernize the Veterans Benefits Management System. You ll develop your skills in technology development, testing and network administration while gaining experience in federal contracting. Grow your skills by reusing and expanding technologies to create a better, modernized platform for our nation's veterans. Join our team and help turn requirements into accomplishments that drive change. This role may require team members to be part of an on-call rotation. Staff will need to be able to respond calls on a 24/7 basis. Each rotation lasts one week, and staff will be on call every 4 to 6 weeks depending on team size. Summary: ThunderYard is seeking a talented Junior/Mid Level Software Engineer to help us with application support for a scheduling product line that will positively impact the lives of millions of Americans. We need a creative engineer with experience supporting and troubleshooting applications, with strong communication and collaboration skills, and a passion for innovation. This team provides 24/7 coverage of a scheduling product line, will be monitoring for tickets and application performance, triaging / responding to issues, and notifying on call resources when necessary. We are seeking talent willing to work the following shifts: 4pm - 12am Monday through Sunday 12am - 8am Monday through Sunday 8am - 4pm Saturday and Sunday and Holidays Responsibilities: · Monitoring for tickets and application performance · Triaging / responding to issues · Revise, update, refactor and debug code · Improve existing software · Develop documentation throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC) Serve as an expert on applications and provide technical support You Have: · Experience as a Tier 2 Analyst performing ServiceNow monitoring, Ticket response, Ticket Triage, Issue Notifications, Application Dashboard monitoring and application performance · 1+ years of experience with SQL · 1+ years of experience with relational database systems and concepts · 1+ years of experience with data and process analysis · Knowledge of software development · Ability to grasp concepts and flow of cross platform data · Ability to communicate application information and solutions to clients · Ability to work efficiently in cross team situations as well as independently · Ability to obtain a security clearance Preferred Qualifications: · Jira, GitHub, Bitbucket, KubernetesAWS Cloud Environments · VA or other Federal Government experience · Excellent analytical and organization skills · Excellent verbal and written communication skills and excellent team skills. · Has high standards, results oriented, and a costumer-centric attitude Compensation: $90,000-$100,000 annually, plus benefits, including medical/dental/vision coverage, PTO and a partial 401k match. Vetting: Candidates selected will be subject to a background investigation for clearance eligibility by our government client.
